What an exciting weekend New Years Eve is for edm fans. I’m expecting a major spectacle from Avicii in NYC and can’t wait to catch a re-cap of Lights All Night in Dallas. For any of you that attend anything big, find me on twitter and let’s talk about it.

As expected, some producers decided to drop some holiday benevolence on us this past week. Instead of the usual weekly single drops, we were instead graced with a barrage of full length projects. The most exciting in my opinion was the Designer Drugs DATAMIX 16, which tied right in with the interview we featured a couple weeks ago. A steady 3 hour mix of dubstep, hip hop, house, and general dance music, DATAMIX 16 has a little something for everyone at the party. Also, ironically enough, the stream closes up with “Tupac Back,” which Michael claimed in the interview would be his daily theme song.

Phase One of the official Ultra Lineup has finally been released and looks a little something like this: Tiesto, Skrillex, Afrojack, Kaskade, Avicii, Laidback Luke, Armin Van Buuren, Justice, and many more. This list brought an interesting point. This is the first year that the American electronic scene, including the likes of Skrillex, Pretty Lights, and Bassnectar, has really been embraced by UMF. Typically this event is geared more towards house and overseas electro. There will be another phase of talent released in about a month, and we can only cross our fingers.

3 Banging Streams
Rusko – “Dubstep Remix Collection”
Afrojack – “Lost and Found 2”
Zedd – “The Mothership pt. 2”

Must Hear Singles
Dream – Go Hard [Crizzly Remix]
Deadmau5 – XMAS Stuff
Skrillex ft Ellie Goulding – Summit [DJ Aylen Remix]
