This Saturday Canal Club goes off for the final Dub101 show of the semester, the theme of which is: Final Exam Nerd Party. As the final installment of the spring semester, B.A.D ASS Raves and Overtone Promo present Fractal and 2RIP for a night of heavy bass and crunchy beats of which you cannot miss. The previous parties, which included headliners like Hulk and Bassdread, were absolute ragers–believe me. The Dub101 series has proven itself as Richmond’s premiere dubstep production, sending attendees on their way with ringing ear-drums and high spirits, time after time. For those of you looking for filthy beats, freedom to rage, and a shoulder workout, this event is for you.

Overtone founder Shaden Wells says that the goal of Dub101 is to give RVA the wildest dance experience possible while showcasing both local and regional talent. Fractal is coming in from Baltimore, while 2RIP hails from our nation’s capital, DC. Supporting artists include Nottixx from NYC, and Mike Phear, whom we previously interviewed here at RVAmag. Phear is a pinnacle in the Richmond electronic community and continues to impress me every time I hear him play. WhiteRaverRafting.com will be in attendance, filming for a mini-doc, so come break it down for the camera. These events are gems for electronic music lovers in Richmond; Canal Club purveys the perfect intimate rave atmosphere with free water and a bar which is perfectly proximal to the dance floor. Drinks and beats, anyone? And by the way, don’t worry about overdressing on the Nerd theme–you can always lose some clothing when you get there. After all, things are guaranteed to get hot and sweaty.
