Tim Barry was recently interviewed by a Liverpool journalist who asked him to play a cover song. Barry instead performed a new song for his wife, Sarah, called “Anniversary” but told the interviewer that it was a cover. He wrote this tune while away from his wife in May 2012 on his first anniversary.
The Northerners have been making a name for themselves in the national scene with having just been featured on Relix.com. The band has released recordings from a 11/14 show at the Republic. The roots rock band features the fronting talents of brother and sister Justin and Ally Khoury. The band’s sound sizzles but it still feels a little uncomfortable to hear both siblings sing songs like “Why Don’t We Do It in The Road?”

Monacan Hill is the band behind singer/songwriter Alex Lee Ratner’s musings. The band releases singles every so often, and “Get Hemp” was just released at the end of November. The band makes special mention that Ratner has never smoked weed.
