This is an interesting and unique event–presented by Route Runna, I’m So 804 is an all-day event happening at the National tomorrow. I’m So 804 will mix seminars, networking events, and hip hop music showcases together in one place, under one roof, and allow local hip hop artists to mingle with industry representatives on an equal footing. Plus there’ll be plenty of music to check out! Starting at 11 AM, the first several hours will be devoted to an industry conference in which hip hop artists will have the opportunity to speak with radio reps, entertainment lawyers, managers, music publishing representatives, and all sorts of other industry figures. In addition to a seminar and a period of time set aside for networking, there’ll be a “Give It 2 Em Straight” hour of live music feedback, as well as MC and beat battles that may interest the fans just as much as the musicians. However, fans who wish to save money and skip the industry insider stuff can simply show up at 3 PM for the music showcases, which will be going on all afternoon! At this point, it’s tough to tell who exactly will be performing, but you can expect a solid mix of local MC and DJ talent, keeping the party going well into the evening. You can buy a ticket for either the conference or the music showcase, or for a discount price, you can grab one ticket that will allow you to hang out all day! So whether you’re a hip hop fan or an artist trying to take the next step, check this event out–it’ll be a great way to spend your Saturday afternoon.
