After a very successful premiere event last week, Radio Rubber Room’s Wednesdays at the Republic With The Dream Machine event rolls on! This week’s headliners are Richmond’s excellent psychedelic punk trio Tungs. One of the best live groups in RVA right now, Tungs bring the volume and energy whenever they play, sometimes switching instruments midset to expand their sonic palette. They have two albums out on local label Bad Grrrl Records; 2010’s Good Dreams and last year’s Poplicker, both of which can be heard on their Bandcamp page. Expect to hear material from both albums, stretched out and expanded to fit the live format. This underrated group is poised to take over the town in 2012, so check them out now and tell all your friends that you saw it coming!

Our Wednesday night house band, The Dream Machine, will also be on hand as usual, mixing a set of original Southern-style blues rockers with some popular covers and bringing plenty of fun in the process! This group’s repertoire is so expansive that they guarantee the set they play Wednesday night to be completely different from the one they played last week. Plus, Dream Machine will be giving away free t-shirts at this show, so you really don’t want to miss out. In addition to all of this great music, drink specials will include $2 rails and $3 microbrew drafts, so come, partake, and enjoy!

WHAT: Radio Rubber Room Presents Tungs And The Dream Machine!
WHERE: The Republic (2053 W. Broad St.)
WHEN: Wednesday, February 8, 9 PM
