Ladies and gentlemen, RVA dance parties just got awesomer than ever! B.A.D.A.S.S. Raves, Party Liberation Front, and RVA Mag are teaming up to bring you LASERFACE–the ultimate laser electro party, kicking off this month at Kingdom! Have you ever been at a really crazy dance party and thought to yourself, “The only way this party could get more epic is if it had lasers?” Well, rest assured you’re not the only one. And with the help of Source Productions, who will be bringing their Laser Graffiti setup to Kingdom, Laserface just might be the most epic party RVA has seen in quite some time!

But this party isn’t just about lasers–the music is going to be off the hook as well! The inaugural edition of Laserface will feature music from Brazil’s top electronic musician, the one and only Darth & Vader. With a name like that, you might expect two people, but in reality, Darth & Vader is the project of Hugo Castellan, who started out as a rock n’ roller but fell in love with electronic music at the age of 19 and started producing soon after. Darth & Vader takes a foundation in electro house, adds elements of dubstep, filters it through the influence of progressive sounds and rock n’ roll rhythms, and always throws in some heavy basslines to make the beats bang and the dance floors explode. His remix of Freefire’s “Dataloss” reached the Top 10 on Beatport’s electro house chart, and his tracks have been spun in DJ sets by the likes of Skrillex and Moby. Darth & Vader has rocked the biggest clubs and festivals all over his home country of Brazil, and now he’s set on conquering the US. Come see him take over Kingdom, and welcome your new electro overlords!

WHAT: LASERFACE featuring Darth & Vader at Kingdom!
WHO: Darth & Vader, Obscure, Agent, Reinhold, Rudeebeatz

WHEN: Thursday, April 18, 8 PM
ADMISSION: $12 in advance–order tickets HERE

Best of all, you could take in this entire extravaganza for free! We here at RVA Magazine have two tickets to give away to one lucky winner, so enter your info into the widget below and just maybe that winner will be you! You’ve got until Friday, April 5 at 5 PM to enter, but don’t sleep–do it now! And keep an eye out for extra opportunities to enter.

Just to get you fired up for all the hot laser-guided dance action that will be taking place at Kingdom in only two short weeks, here’s a quick preview of what Darth & Vader will have in store for you. “Return Of the Jedi” is without a doubt his biggest hit (Porter Robinson included it in his set at Ultra Music Festival this year, which should tell you all you need to know), and its “come to the dark side” sample is a nice reference to the origin of the producer’s nom de guerre. Check out the track below, and don’t worry about the fact that the youtube clip is audio only–after all, you’re gonna be dancing around your room anyway, so why do you need something to look at?
