This is one for the metalheads out there among you. Massachusetts metal band All That Remains is headed out on tour with VA’s own Darkest Hour next month. They’ll be coming to the 9:30 Club on Wednesday, April 9, and if you play your cards right, you could see the show for free! All That Remains and Darkest Hour are both longtime veterans of the metal scene, and both are preparing to release new albums this year. This will be the seventh album for All That Remains and the ninth for Darkest Hour, which shows how much time these two bands have under their belts. We’re not sure if this show will include any new material, but even if it doesn’t, there’s plenty of strong stuff in their back catalogs for both of these bands to draw from. For example:

You should probably get to the show on time, too, because openers Wilson absolutely deserve your attention. This Detroit band take a tongue-in-cheek approach to their rockin’ thrash metal, but their 2013 album, Full Blast Fuckery, is seriously great on a musical level, even as their lyrics keep you laughing. This in-studio performance gives you a slight idea of what goofballs these guys are (notice the singer’s headphones are duct-taped onto his head) but definitely makes clear how much they shred, and why you need to make sure you catch their set:

So yeah, be at the 9:30 Club on April 9, and be prepared for a night of awesome metal onslaught! It’s gonna rule.
