Ladies and gentlemen, that veteran rock powerhouse from Baltimore is back! After several years away from the studio, Clutch graced us with their tenth album, and first in four years, Earth Rocker, back in the spring. And boy, did it deliver! Retaining their science fiction atmosphere, Clutch nonetheless got back to basics with an album full of rock n’ roll riffs and crushing metal power. You can see that on the video for “Crucial Velocity,” a song that mixes a narrative about being on the run from future cops with musclecar references straight out of the 50s. Check it out below:

Clutch singer Neil Fallon had some health issues earlier this year that unfortunately sidelined him and put the band’s Earth Rocker tour on hold. However, Neil’s feeling better, and they’re back on the road now, ready to tear the roof off of some arenas with their awesome rock power! They’ll be pulling into Charlottesville for a gig at The Jefferson Theater on Thursday, January 16, accompanied by Austin TX’s The Sword (featuring former members of RVA’s Ultimate Dragons) and PA rockers Crobot. It’s gonna be an incredible night of (wait for it…) pure rock fury, so make sure you’re there!
