Fans of EDM and pop music should enjoy this one. A young British songstress, Foxes burst onto the scene back in 2012 through a collaboration with German producer Zedd. The result of their work together was top ten single “Clarity,” which was inescapable throughout last summer. Since contributing vocals to that gorgeous slice of triumphant electro-dance pop, Foxes has been steadily putting together a release of her own. With her debut album, Glorious, scheduled for release in early 2014, she’s currently capturing attention with pre-release single “Youth,” a #1 Club hit. You may have seen the video already (it’s got damn near 3 million views), but if you haven’t, do so now and find out what all the fuss is about:

Foxes is currently on a brief US tour, and the last of her seven stateside dates will bring her to Washington DC’s U Street Music Hall. Opportunities to see her play have not exactly been plentiful, and this one is worth taking advantage of. While her studio recordings have a heavy dance emphasis, her live show offers more of an opportunity for the pop melodies that are at the core of her music to stand out and shine. The resulting sound, combined with her assured and confident stage presence, makes for a hypnotic live experience, as you can see on this performance of “Echo” (another track slated for inclusion on Glorious), from earlier this year:

Basically, regardless of whether you’re into electronic dance or anthemic pop music, you’ll find something to love in Foxes. So come see her play!
