Win Tickets To See RJD2 At The Canal Club!

A couple of years ago, RJD2 dropped into the Canal Club to rock the place with a DJ set that blew the place away. At a time when a lot of DJs are content to stand behind a laptop pressing buttons, RJD2 kept the party rocking in highly energetic fashion by working four turntables at once, flipping from crossfaders to stacks of LPs and never standing still during his entire performance.

Richmond gave RJD2 such a warm welcome that night that he has returned once again to rock the Canal Club–and if you haven’t seen him play before, you’re in for an unforgettable evening. RJD2’s brand of complex instrumental hip hop combining samples and live instrumentation is in a class by itself, and has even led him to mainstream crossover status with his theme for the TV show Mad Men. The man’s work ethic is also highly noteworthy, and is reflected in his live performances. When we talked to him last time he was in town, he told us about all the hard work he puts into his live show to make it stand out from the laptop crowd. He wanted his performances to stand up to the expectations of even the most discriminating audience member. He proved then that he was able to rise to the challenge, and he’ll prove it all again this weekend when he takes the stage at the Canal Club. You don’t want to miss it!
