Hip hop heads, get ready–two of the best emcees in the game will be hitting central Virginia in less than two weeks, and you need to be there! Talib Kweli, one half of the legendary Black Star and an amazing artist in his own right, is currently preparing for the release of his sixth solo album, Gravitas, coming in December. Considering he’s already dropped one LP this year, the well-received Prisoner Of Conscious, it’s notable that Kweli is continuing to bring the high-quality product in such a prolific fashion. Unlike Prisoner Of Conscious, which featured a variety of well-known producers including RZA, Harry Fraud, Boi-1da, and more, Gravitas is a one-man affair, with all production handled by legendary Tribe Called Quest leader Q-Tip. We haven’t heard anything from the new album yet, but if the pedigree is any indication, it’s sure to be top notch. You may hear some tracks from Gravitas at the show, but it’s much more likely that Kweli will bust out some of the best tracks from Prisoner Of Conscious. Here’s the star-studded, soulful jam “Push Thru,” featuring Curren$y and Kendrick Lamar on guest verses and S1 on production:

Big K.R.I.T. hasn’t been in the game as long as Kweli, but the Mississippi emcee has done quite a bit to make his name and prove his talent over the years he’s been rapping. Since making his big breakthrough in 2011 with the Return Of 4Eva mixtape, K.R.I.T. has been productive, dropping his major label debut, 2012’s Live From The Underground, and following it up with the acclaimed 2013 mixtape, King Remembered In Time. He’s currently preparing to release his second major label album, Cadillactica, coming in the first part of 2014. The first single, “Just Last Week,” dropped at the end of August, and it has the K.R.I.T. trademarks–a classic Dirty South beat and some excellent country-accented rhyming–along with a guest appearance from Future in full “sad T-Pain” mode. Check it out below:

With these two excellent rappers taking the stage on the same night, this concert is sure to be amazing. Make sure you are in attendance!
