A.Chardae, Skuzii & Rap-Unzel: YO! HIP HOP RVA

by | Nov 16, 2023 | HIP HOP & RAP, MUSIC

This week’s edition of YO! HIP HOP RVA features not just one, but two woman MCs. A.Chardae and Rap-Unzel deliver memorable verses on records that couldn’t sound more different from one another (in a good way of course). While Skuzii delivers a fun, “oontz oontz” earworm. We’ve got it all for you on this week’s Yo! Hip Hop RVA.

A.CHARDAE
“We All Got Money” feat. Bozdagoat (single)

A.Chardae and Bozdagoat glide over this piano-backed, bass-thumping record like a pianist’s hands over black and ivory keys. Both rappers deliver equally impressive verses in obligatory rap video settings—the corner store and the sports car. Give this song the car test as it was intended—you’ll thank me later. Rap-Unzel
“Say Dat” (single)

The pixie-cut donning Rap-Unzel—unlike the storybook character Rapunzel—shines in this spooky, dimly-lit video. The Rap Game alumnus‘ deep, raspy voice and sharp bars cut through i18n’s ominous, boomy production. The video is shot under pale moonlight leaving a ghostly aura and stark shadows along the rapper’s face (which explains why the video was released on Halloween) as she floats over the beat. SKUZII
“Boundaries” feat. JayWhit (single)

Skuzii and JayWhit join forces for this I-am-the-prize house anthem. Skuzii’s melodic raps and JayWhit’s harmonic singing over heavy 808s (produced by Skuzii and UNION) makes this a perfect addition to your kickback playlist. Follow Skuzii here and JayWhitt here.
