Bay grass update #8: encouraging growth = eventual empty nest syndrome

by | Mar 23, 2017 | RICHMOND NEWS

So it seems my persistent nagging may have worked (for the first time in my life and maybe the first time in human history) as we’ve seen encouraging growth in our little office green house.

How many times have you told your roommate to clean the bathroom? How many times did you just end up doing it?

Yeah, exactly. So this is a win for me.

If you look closely you can see that our little guys have grown a substantial amount since last week, probably about an inch. The algae’s gotten pretty nasty again – I was told a whole sheet of the slime was ripped off the top of the soil. We here at RVAMag make sacrifices for the story. Show me another publication that sticks their paws in their homemade office swamp daily. You can’t.

Anyway, it’s week 8 and things have been quiet. I thrive off stress and disaster, and I’m not ready to settle down yet. Studies have shown that postpartum depression is common for new mothers. Yeah, I didn’t birth it, but I just don’t have the connection with it that I thought I would.

You think the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden takes donations? Or rather, adoptions? Let me know if you’ve always wanted a little sprout of your own. Just asking for a friend.

See ya next week!

The Felon Who Built Scott’s Addition

"The joy of finding a perfectly reusable gem on a sidewalk, in an alley, or on a porch stoop is one of the perks of living in such close proximity in the city of Richmond. The FOMO of not making it on your bike in time for a taxidermy dolphin or a surprisingly decent...
