It isn’t any secret that the staff over here at RVA Mag is extremely excited for Halloween. Just take a look at our HALLOWEEK events here that are going on all this week through Monday and you’ll see we crave the spooky, scary and of course, the zaney.

RVA has always been big on its October 31 festivities with bar crawls, and masquerades, and other events, but no Halloween event would be complete without a costume contest, and there are more than a few out there this year. So many that, we here at RVA Mag discovered if you managed to nail the right costume and make your way to various contests, you could potentially snag enough cash to pay your rent. And wouldn’t that be the sweetest treat of all this year?

Many bars and restaurants around RVA are giving away anywhere from $100 to $1,000 for the best costume. You could at least pay your whole or part of your rent with any one of these parties we have so kindly listed below for you. Now, get to work on that costume, and don’t be lazy we don’t want to see any hipsters posing as Kurt Cobain or girls wearing lingerie with any pair of animal ears and calling it a costume. Game on and Happy Halloween!
