Death Grips release new brutal track

The industrial/hip hop project of rapper Stefan Burnett, drummer Zach Hill, and producer Andy Morin may have called it quits earlier this year, but they’ve still got one more album to release, and the first single is totally fucking brutal.

Death Grips hit a lot of relevant chords in their short three year life-span. Lord knows Hill (Hella, Team Sleep, other weird shit) is no stranger to being ahead of the curve, and as hipster hip-hop exploded, the harsh rhymes of Burnett made the two a match made in heaven.

Things had been going great for the band – they were set to open for Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden for a summer 2014 tour, and they had a double album set to release by the end of the year.

But all that came to a screeching halt in July when the band posted a note on their facebook page saying they had peaked, and Death Grips was now over.

Whatever, better to burn out then to fade away, #amiright?

Check out the new track “Inanimate Sensation,” set to be part of their final release Powers That B, which has no confirmed release date. (it’ll probably be free when it comes out, so that’s cool)

Set your ears to stun.
