*This is a breaking story.

A video game competition has turned deadly after a mass shooter opened fire at a Madden NFL regional tournament in Jacksonville, Florida. According to the Miami Herald, the shooting, which took place a little after 2 p.m., has left four people dead and 11 have been reported wounded. The shooting was broadcast live on Twitch as gamers were mid-competition. Multiple shots can be heard on the livestream. One competitor was heard yelling, “fuck, what is he shooting with,” before another volley of shots can be heard.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has released a series of tweets urging the public to avoid the Jacksonville Landing where the tournament is being held, telling the public “the area is not safe at this time.”

The police are still finding people sheltered in place and “locked areas” inside the tournament area. They have asked people inside the building to “… stay calm, stay where you are hiding. SWAT is doing a methodical search inside The Landing. We will get to you. Please don’t come running out.”
