It’s finally here. I have been waiting months and months for this place to open.

Rapp Session, an oyster and cocktail bar AND marketplace from the guys at Rappahannock Restaurant, opened the spot up next door to their fine dining restaurant at 318 E. East Grace St. on Thursday.
Rappahannock Restaurant owners Travis and Ryan Croxton opened Rappahannock Restaurant in 2012 and it’s since earned many accolades for its excellent food and cocktail menu including Best New Restaurant in 2014 by Esquire, and a mention in National Geographic for where to travel in Richmond for food this year. I’m a tad obsessed with it, I’ll admit.
Rapp Session is serving up all kinds of oysters from all over the world along with other cold items you can expect at a raw bar.
Their marketplace will also sell oysters and other fresh seafood to go so you can cook up delicious meals at home in addition to hot sauces, meats, Bento’s Smoky Mountain Country Ham, craft beer, Virginia Wine, and sandwiches and Sub Rosa Bakery bread.
If oysters and cocktails aren’t enough to draw you in, stop by in the morning for a latte or espresso! Rapp Session will open at 7 am serving coffee from Counter Culture Coffee.
The coffee shop is open from 7am-3pm, and the bar opens from 3pm – 2am. Expect to hear more from RVA Mag on Rapp Session and a review because I’m excited to try this place out!
