Victor Escobar, a passionate fan of the English goth punk The Damned, is pumped about the band’s 40th anniversary tour and he wants them to include a stop here in RVA.

The Damned released their first record in 1977, the creatively named Damned Damned Damned. Early success stemmed from their single, “New Rose,” which helped land the band on tour with the Sex Pistols.

After the extremely successful screenings of Wes Orshoski’s _The Damned: Don’t You Wish That We Were Dead_ documentary film here in Richmond, VA, we announced an online petition to get the band back here to play in Richmond. Yes… it’s been 18 years since The Damned have played the River City… I think it’s about time they come back. Next year The Damned mark their 40 anniversary with a tour. Let’s get them to stop here and play a gig! So Richmond… let’s let Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, and the boys know that they are welcome to play one of our venues with as many signatures as possible on this petition! Take a moment to sign to get these punk legends back to Richmond!
