The leaves have fallen and the air is chilly and besides pumpkin and autumn-inspired craft brews there’s another beverage that fall has become known for: cider. Its crisp delicious flavor is the perfect drink for these upcoming colder months.

And because we make everything into a celebration here because we’re awesome, we’re right in the midst of Virginia Cider Week! People all over the state began celebrating craft hard cider during last Fri. Nov. 13 at cideries and other places with tastings and other events. VA Cider Week will run until this Sun. Nov. 22 and RVA Mag is getting in on the action!

We have put together a fun event for tomorrow in collaboration with The Answer Brewpub and Potter’s Craft Cider out of Charlottesville to celebrate our state’s finest ciders.

There will be a lip sync battle, a cider tap takeover at the brewpub and a $100 prize.

For the ciders, expect to see Potter’s Hop Cider, Potter’s Grapefruit Hibiscus, Crispin Pear, Ace Pineapple, Cobbler Mountain Ginger Peach, Cobbler Mountain Honey Cider, Millstone Cherrykriek and Millstone Farmgate on the taps.

Bring your best lip sync skills and dance moves if you’d like to enter the contest. Costumes are welcome. You get to pick your song so make sure its a good one because the winner of the battle will receive a $100 gift certificate to The Answer. Registration starts at 7:30pm and the battle begins at 8:30pm. The audience will determine the winner.

RVA Mag and The Answer’s cider celebration kicks off tomorrow, Wed. Nov. 18 at 7:30 pm. Be sure to check out tomorrow’s Tapped column for VA Cider Week events!
