I don’t know how many ways I can tell y’all over and over again every week that all of us are losing our minds a bit from the longterm social isolation of this pandemic, but even if I get repetitive, it seems that the Missed Connections will always find a new spin on an old theme.
This week, we hear from someone whose top criteria for a connection seems to be the willingness to spend a night in the same bed, as well as some Mechanicsville dollar store shoppers who manage to exude top-level redneck vibes in the space of only two lines. The fact that Richmond’s become a bit of a clearinghouse for the filming of period piece dramas over the past several years factors into this week’s MCs, as does Maymont Park and craft brew — very Richmond, on the whole.
If anything will let you know that we’re all getting a little economically desperate at this point, though, it’s the fact that there are so many Missed Connections this week from Food Lion. Not that I’m knocking it — they’re the only grocery store in the area that carries my favorite flavor of Lipton Rice Sides.
Stock up, Virginia.
just sleep in my bed (the fan)
just dont be a junky and come sleep in my bed for a few hours. We can work it out in email. I’m 29, white, and in the fan.
You were driving a dark green Colorado truck. Dark hair and the truck needed a muffler. Thought you were cute. Hit me up.
Ryan from “Turn”: Washington Spies (Richmond)
I know this is the craziest long shot ever….but looking for a guy named Ryan (I know there are a million Ryans), but this Ryan worked on the set of “Turn” during Season I and II. Tall dude with long brown hair, fit, and usually played a soldier red coat or blue coat. We were on the set together in Maidens, VA (State Farm), The Old Baptist Church in downtown Richmond and one night in Petersburg, VA all in 2014. Me and another friend from “Turn” have been talking about you and wondered, whatever happened to that guy. You were very cool as was the time in general. It was a lot fun hanging out in the warming tents waiting for our “big break” in front of the camera. If anyone might know this Ryan or was even on “Turn” it would be fun to reminisce.
We discussed iPads. I wanted to talk more but you went to the bathroom. Let me know if you see this.

The woman I saw at the gas station (Roanoke)
I saw you at the gas station. Skinny woman. We made eye contact briefly but because we were both wearing a mask I did not approach you.
Couple at the bar (Midlothian)
You are a couple at the bar…. someone we chatted and flirted with (another couple). We discussed the possibility of heading back to one of our houses for some fun times (girl time and possibly more). If you think this could be you let us know . Hoping to catch up this weekend.
Happy happy oh my friend(?)! Wishing you much love and light. Hope you’re not dealing with too many heavy things.
It’s too bad you’ve become a ghost, we should be bouncing round the room somewhere.
