Arrest of abortion activists in TX mirrors VA’s protests

Back in March, 2012, 31 people were arrested on the steps of the VA capital . They were asking representatives to not pass HB462, a bill which would require women to receive an ultrasound before getting an abortion.


Back in March, 2012, 31 people were arrested on the steps of the VA capital . They were asking representatives to not pass HB462, a bill which would require women to receive an ultrasound before getting an abortion.

The law was passed and signed by then Governor/now disgraced subject of federal indictment Bob McDonnell.

Down in Texas, they are facing their own series of laws aimed at shutting down abortion clinics around the state. And in an impressive gesture, activists blocked off a main drag near UT Austin and 5 women were arrested.
