The Carnival of Five Fires, RVA’s premiere fire spinning troop/group of local crazy folks, is back for the its eighth year and these weirdos have stretched the annual event into a month long extravaga

The Carnival of Five Fires, RVA’s premiere fire spinning troop/group of local crazy folks, is back for the its eighth year and these weirdos have stretched the annual event into a month long extravaganza.

There’s a mess of parties and events to check out between last weekend and Halloween night with the Halloween Parade from Monroe Park to Oregon Hill.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, so to honor the month and the many women (& men) courageously fighting the cancerous beast, Richmond’s voted #1 Tattoo Artist is teaming up with Richmond’s voted #1 Burlesque Performer on October 17th to bring forth a show that puts the winning power back in the hands of those fighting this brave fight to save, celebrate and decorate the tatas!

The Pink Ink Fund is a non-profit organization founded by Amy Black that offers financial assistance, education and outreach for post mastectomy patients to receive reconstructive, restorative, recovery tattooing. Combining this cause with the feminine power of burlesque, aka “the art of the tease,” which celebrates women’s empowerment, self confidence, ALL shapes, sizes, colors & flaws, will undoubtedly *explode* Gallery5 into an evening of tit-illation, raised spirits, hope & strength for survivors, previvors and women who are currently battling beast cancer.

***100% of the proceeds raised go towards the Pink Ink Fund***

Capitol Opera Richmond (COR) is thrilled to be performing thrills and trills on the “Carnival of 5 Fires” for the second year in a row. They will present an original Baroque opera adaptation of the timeless ghost story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” With the traditional story of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman as the libretto, and insertions of timeless Baroque arias to support the story. COR will be performing this spooky 2-act Baroque opera on Saturday, October 24. Doors open at 8pm; show at 9pm.
