These colder months can get you in a funk when it comes to getting out and about, but don’t let the weather get you down! If you’re looking for something fun to do, there are some nice little getaways right here in Virginia from private short term rental sites like Airbnb and VRBO.com.

They’ve got some pretty cool spots for you to stay for a mini vacation when you need to get away from work, de-stress some, or maybe just get a change of scenery.

Five Peaks at Wintergreen-Airbnb

A private mountain hideaway nestled in the treetops. Beautiful view, hot tub, fireplace, screened in gazebo, double hammock. Hike the Appalachian Trail or hit Wintergreen Resort to snowboard, ski, golf, and tube. There’s also golfing, tennis, swimming and rock climbing.

Check out the wildlife from your wwrap around porch or warm up with their outdoor fire pit or even make some burgers on their grill. Shenandoah National Park, Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive are just some of the attractions you can check out during your stay.

Frank Lloyd Wright Cooke House, Virginia Beach-Airbnb

This was a favorite of the staff here. The house, designed by the famous architect,overlooks Crystal Lake and is a short walk to beach and First Landing State Park with hiking trails. Home cooked breakfast is apparently included? Nice! A 14 foot swim spa was installed in a stepped down terrace overlooking Crystal Lake. The house has some cool history too, but we’ll let you find that out for yourselves. And because it’s Virginia Beach, there are plenty of restaurants, bars and attractions for those that love the nightlife!
