Fan package thief arrested and charged with larceny

The man caught on video stealing an unattended package off a front porch in the 2500 block of Floyd Avenue
Monday afternoon, was arrested Wednesday and charged with larceny.

The suspect was identified as Derrick D. Traylor, 39, according to the Richmond Police Department.

“With the help of citizens and media and their tips that rolled in, Detective {Eric} Sandlin was able to identify the suspect and was able to locate and arrest him today,” said James Mercante, Richmond Police public relations officer.

Mercante did not release an address, where they picked up the suspect or any other information at this time.

The video below shows Traylor walking up to the steps, covering the package with his jacket and walking away.
