Help Ellwoods help Slow Food RVA at Thursday’s Farm to Table Dinner

Do you enjoy a fresh, home-cooked meal? Do you enjoy pleasant and informed company on topics you’re interested in as an RVA Foodie? Consider joining the folks at Ellwoods for a special Farm to Table dinner with in connection with Slow Food RVA.


Do you enjoy a fresh, home-cooked meal? Do you enjoy pleasant and informed company on topics you’re interested in as an RVA Foodie? Consider joining the folks at Ellwoods for a special Farm to Table dinner with in connection with Slow Food RVA.

Slow Food RVA is the local chapter of the world-wide slow food movement, which has 100,000 members in 132 countries. Slow Food folks aim to educate, celebrate, and advocate, and hope to “reconnect Greater Richmond area residents with the people, traditions, plants, animals, fertile soils, and waters that produce our regional food, thus promoting sustainability and preserving biodiversity.”

And now’s your chance to meet some of the good locals involved in the movement and help support their cause. Details about the event are below via Ellwood Thompson’s:

Join us for an evening of food and conversation benefiting Slow Food RVA! We are partnering with Slow Food RVA to host a Farm to Table dinner, with Slow Food RVA providing the entire 3 course dinner through their various partner farms and our own chefs preparing it.

Slow Food RVA is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization which works collaboratively to champion the local foods of central Virginia and their sources, producers and historical traditions. They welcome volunteers of all ages, skills and backgrounds to join them in developing and staging their programs. Learn more about their programs and volunteer opportunities here.

Check out the menu here. Vegan and gluten-free options are available, and the menu is subject to change due availability of fresh, local ingredients.

We are pleased to announce that Natural Organic Process Enterprises (NOPE) will compost the dinner’s food scraps, making this a zero-waste event!
