Congressman Don McEachin to hold first town hall in Jackson Ward 4/8

by | Apr 3, 2017 | RICHMOND POLITICS

While conservative legislators have faced roaring crowds at recent town hall events, local Democrat and freshmen Congressman Don McEachin will return to his district this weekend to hear from his constituents for the first time since heading to DC earlier this year.

McEachin, who has long been a friend to numerous progressive causes from women’s health to LGBTQ issues, will host the event at Sixth Mt. Zion Baptist Church on 14 W Duval Street, Richmond, VA at 1 PM this Saturday, 4/8.

McEachin and his democratic allies are in the minority in Washington, but this would be a good chance to show him support and/or reinforce the issues you feel he needs to be working towards.

While McEachin’s first Town Hall will probably have a solid show of support, his Republican counterparts have faced rowdy crowds at similar events recently. Among those who got a mouth full of anti-Trump backlash was Congressman Dave Bratt who held his event last month and got yelled at for about two hours.
