Audi USA’s new promo for their A4 model was shot here in Richmond.

Audi USA’s new promo for their A4 model was shot here in Richmond. The ad show barely any street trash and it makes our city look worthy of the sexy luxury that is the Audi brand.

“The crew that came down from New York and LA were completely blown away on how Richmond could be believable as New York in some aspects; they thought it was so easy to shoot here,” said Stacy Murphy president of the Richmond production company Park Group who shot the video. “I don’t know why more people don’t shoot here.”

The promo features locations such as the Richmond Metropolitan Authority (RMA)’s downtown expressway, the Manchester Bridge, Main Street Station and other Downtown spots around the convention center.

“Basically we came up with a checklist of locations and Audi, [who is] based in Virginia, was happy to not have to travel far away as were we,” said Murphy.

All the shoots took place after 2 AM to get that “sexy” nighttime look and because the streets of Richmond are basically devoid of people around that time anyway. The crew also had to make comical loops around the city due to its short length.

“This content will run on our social channels, on Audiusa.com, in our dealerships, and in our internal communications,” said Tara Dyer Manager of brand content and marketing innovation for Audi America.

Dyer also said that those at Audi were “thrilled with the outcome” of the video and that the shots of Richmond were “stunning locations.”

After having the UCI bike race back here in the fall, Richmond has yet again drawn an international gaze.
