Got this in our inbox, a new track from NOVA rapper Yim. Can’t seem to find much more about him short of the attached description:

Self produced with jangly drums and low, smooth bass, ‘Junk’ approaches the gusto and braggadocio of hip-hop with lighthearted ease. A far cry from today’s over-produced singles, ‘Junk’ is a sure head-nodder for kickin’ it with friends or whippin’ around in an uber on a night out.

He wasn’t wrong – I bobbed my head pretty consistently throughout ‘Junk,’ and it is delightfully under produced.

Check out the release via Suburban Music Group below:

It’s not stellar, but it’s Monday and we dug it enough to share.

Not sure what the image means, and You’ll notice his next track, ‘Rafiki’s Waltz,’ follows a strikingly similar pattern.

His earlier stuff – Schlomo-style slow jams – aren’t bad either though.
