Record Store Day is the annual April event in which record shops receive special releases with the intention of reaching new audiences.

Record Store Day is the annual April event in which record shops receive special releases with the intention of reaching new audiences. It’s a sad fact that record stores aren’t as common as they once were, but their importance to musical development remains.

Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters and Nirvana fame is the acting ambassador for the event this year, and they’ve put together a video explaining why record stores are important to him, and why they should be to you too.
