Richmonders create Twitter hashtag for RVA-themed Halloween costumes

Most people love Halloween. But I’ve never seen anywhere get quite as into it as Richmond.

Most people love Halloween. But I’ve never seen anywhere get quite as into it as Richmond. Dressing up, throwing costume parties, decorating houses, bar crawls, to making the annual pilgrimage into Carytown to drag their lifeless bodies around for the Richmond Zombie Walk, even creating a Zombie Prom to dance the night away with their other weirdo friends.

Now it seems Richmonders have made a special Twitter acccount dedicated to RVA-themed Halloween costumes. And ideas are getting better by the minute. First created by Taber Bain on Tuesday, the hashtag #RVAHalloweenCostumes has generated all sorts of tweets from going as the UCI Bike Race, to one of Richmond’s monuments, to Kanawha Plaza. Karri Peifer from the Richmond Times Dispatch actually broke the story first, but you can see some of the tweets from Twitter below:

Submit some of your own ideas and photos to #RVAHalloweenCostumes we’d love to see them! And if you’re looking for something spooky, strange or fun to do this week, than check RVA Mag’s Halloweek events page here. You can join, invite all your weird friends, and keep up with our events at #HalloweekRVA.
