Oh man, this took a while, but here’s some words from every candidate currently running for City Council.

Oh man, this took a while, but here’s some words from every candidate currently running for City Council.

Last night more than 20 candidates showed up to a forum organized by a number of local and state-wide advocacy groups. The questions were provided by the same groups and the event was moderated by local journalist Chris Dovi.

We were there to record the night’s events. Below, over a series of facebook images, we’ve provided the best possible transcription of last night’s forum.

While facebook albums don’t allow for text formatting, they do allow for an easily navigable format to scroll through images and text like we have below. This means each photo is formatted in this way:

Answer

We did our best here, but feel free to reach out to us at hello@rvamag.com if we messed anything up and we’ll do our best to get it fixed.

Either way, we hope this helps provide some insight into the upcoming race. It should be know a few candidates couldn’t make it. Below are their names and the reasons they couldn’t make it according to event organizers:

1st District – Harry H Warner Jr. – Declined by e-mail

3rd District – Hassan Fountain confirmed he would participate but didn’t show up.

4th District – Jeffrey Burk Thomas – didn’t reply to emails or left voicemails
Other than that, take a look at the gallery below.

7th District – Current CC member Cynthia Newbile – couldn’t make it and let the organizers know ahead of time

8th District – Current CC member Reva M. Trammell – Wouldn’t commit to show up after contact was made multiple times

Check out most of the candidates running for Richmond City Council.
