Last year, 92.1 million Americans shopped on Black Friday, and spent over $57 billion. Imagine the economic impact if Richmonders spent just a fraction of that amount at local businesses. That’s where Small Business Saturday, the day after Black Friday, comes in.

Last year, 92.1 million Americans shopped on Black Friday, and spent over $57 billion. Imagine the economic impact if Richmonders spent just a fraction of that amount at local businesses. That’s where Small Business Saturday, the day after Black Friday, comes in.

We spent a sunny Saturday walking around Carytown, popping into local shops and taking photos. We were excited to see loads of amazing gift ideas right in our backyard, and our shopping guide showcases some of the cool stuff we found. Of course, there are oodles of small businesses in Carytown and the Richmond area that aren’t covered here, but we did this ourselves with limited resources, because we’re a small business too.

So take a look, get inspired, and join us in shopping local this year. From all of us at RVA Mag and GayRVA, have a wonderful holiday!
