Sugar Shack Donuts has helped put RVA on the map as a fried dough-Mecca. They helped bring the Foo Fighters to town last year, and they are rapidly expanding around the East Coast (opening in Asheville, NC soon)
They’re also among the folks hoping to drum up business this week during the UCI Race, and have been unafraid to let folks know how they feel about it:

But moving past that (maybe) they’ve got a great deal going down today: if you bring in a receipt from any local business and show it to Sugar Shack, you can get a free donut.
Now whether today’s deal is directly related to businesses being slow or they’re just in a good mood (we’ll let you decide, reader) we’re not here to judge, but get out there and shop and head on over to Sugar Shack when you’re done.
