When Metallica was king.

by | Dec 12, 2009 | POLITICS

There was a time in the early 80s when metal went from dark, theatrical with vocal melodies like Judas Priest and Dio to hard thrashing and no apologizes. Metallica taught so many other bands how to do it then taught the world how to make lots of money doing it. They didnt bend to the market, the market bent to them and then they started to suck. I can’t explain it but there is a hard line between the earlier work like Ride The Lightning to post millionaire albums like Load. Hell, they promote their new albums by saying they it sounds like the old shit. Anyway, here is a bit of nostalgia for you.

I created Richmond, Virginia’s culture publication RVA Magazine and brought the first Richmond Mural Project to town. Designed the first brand for the Richmond’s First Fridays Artwalk and promoted the citywide “RVA” brand before the city adopted it as the official moniker. I threw a bunch of parties. Printed a lot of magazines. Met so many fantastic people in the process. Professional work: www.majormajor.me
