Your guide to RVA NYE 2015 at Brown’s Island

Get ready for an all new way to celebrate the new year, Richmond. Celebrate the end of 2014 with a new 50-foot ball-drop, tons of RVA craft booze, and 15,000 of your new best friends.

We’re taking over Brown’s Island, and you are all invited.

I’m sure ya’ll still have plenty of questions, so here’s the details:

The party kicks off at 7 PM and ends at 12:30 AM

The event is free but 18+ – Bring ID when you come to the gate!

There will be food!

We will have 12 food trucks on site to serve attendees. These include Carytown Burger & Fries, Slideways Mobile Bistro, Strawberry Street, The Dog Wagon, BonBon, Nader’s Bistro & Grill, MacBrand, Firehouse BBQ, Mexican Soul, Cool Concessions, and the Great White Buffalo.

There will be booze!

Will have 5 Specialty Beverage Beer Trucks on site serving general admission attendees New Belgium, Fat Tire Amber Ale / New Belgium, Slow Ride Session / Dogfish Head, Indian Brown Ale / Allagash, White Ale / Parkway, Get Bent IPA / Crispin, Blackberry Pear Cider.

NO COOLERS OR CHAIRS WILL BE ALLOWED

There will be entertainment!

The entertainment will be provided by the best in local DJ talent spread over 2 stages. The Main Stage will feature Doddie Braza, MASS FX, Hoody, Trill Bill and Soulpower for the night along with hosts Jack Lauterback and Melissa Chase of 103.7 PLAY. The PLF Stage will have Mr.Jennings, Reinhold, Nighttime, Dope Solo along with host Parker Galore and fire performers.

It’s gonna be cold, so dress warm!

You’re reading that right – 28o, so we are suggesting you dress warmly. There are heated tents for the VIP areas but general admission will be outside on the lawn. Also, we will be on grass so keep that in mind when picking out your shoes.

There are 2 designated VIP areas that will include the following: heated tent area with transparent roof for viewing of the RVA NYE Ball rise; buffet that will have warm small plate food for everyone provided by our friends at The Broadberry; cash bar with a selection of Ciroc Vodka, Red Bull, and craft beers from Specialty Beverage.

SHUTTLE
Thank you to our partner at BIORIDE for providing shuttle service to and from Brown’s Island. Shuttle times start 6pm December 31st and end at 1am. Sprinter Vans are available for group rides! Please contact BioRide and schedule your pick up times.

TAXI
We would like to thank NAPOLEON TAXI and Allen & Allen for providing rides for RVA NYE 2015! Call Napoleon Taxi at 804-354-8294 or 354-TAXI. You must ask for the Sober Ride Home to be eligible for the free fare. Allen & Allen will pick up the tab for the free cab rides between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The Sober Rides only apply to those going home. They will not apply to patrons going to another drinking establishment.

Also, we are working with PROVIDE-A-RIDE to get people home safe.

Parking and Traffic concerns

We are closing 5th street South of Byrd St, and Tredegar Street between 5th St and 10th St at Haxall Point. Only cabs and approved shuttles will be allowed down to the main area.

We have the Federal Reserve Parking deck available for VIP parking at $5 a spot. Other than that there is parking available in different areas of downtown for attendees within walking distance to Brown’s Island. CARPOOL FOLKS!
