Booze, bike stunts & Zima: Check out Municipal Waste’s gritty new video, ‘Breathe Grease’

by | Jul 25, 2017

“That was awesome.”

“That was gross.”

Fitting words for a day with Municipal Waste. And for most in the local scene, an unsurprising end to their newest music video.

Earlier this year, Richmond’s longtime thrash metal favorite kicked off their new album, Slime and Punishment with their “Amateur Sketch” single. Slime and Punishment, which dropped on June 23, is back this month with a new video for its track, “Breathe Grease.”

“Breathe Grease” as its aptly named, captures Richmond’s greasy, gritty side as it follows a local metalhead house party through three minutes of booze, bike stunts, séances, drug jars, Zima, backyard jet ski pools and good old-fashioned thrash.

While drummer Dave Witte’s new mouth-watering vegan food truck wasn’t the band’s business-as-usual, the new track hits home for everything that comes to mind thinking of the Waste.

For Richmonders, it’ll be a while before the chance to hear Slime and Punishment live comes along. The band is touring the midwest and west coast through the end of summer, but can be found online in the meantime on Facebook and Instagram.
