We had to post this strange, and dare I say hypnotic, video for Cata9tales’s “Kaboombox.” It’s so ridiculous, with visuals reminiscent of early nineties videos like Beck’s “Loser” and The Breeders’ “Cannonball.” On top of that, even more interesting is that we now know there is a “scene” in South Boston. Did you know that? Did you really? What’s going on down there? Send us more stuff.

Also, check out our review of their album from a few issues ago.

Cata9Tales – A Chameleon’s Dream (cata9tales.com)
A Chameleon’s Dream is interesting, to say the least. This South Boston duo manages to meld many different musical influences together to create an excited sound that backs unique hip hop lyrical themes. Much different from what you’re used to, but if you’re searching for something new, you may enjoy this record. (DA)

I created Richmond, Virginia’s culture publication RVA Magazine and brought the first Richmond Mural Project to town. Designed the first brand for the Richmond’s First Fridays Artwalk and promoted the citywide “RVA” brand before the city adopted it as the official moniker. I threw a bunch of parties. Printed a lot of magazines. Met so many fantastic people in the process. Professional work: www.majormajor.me
