GWAR, “Madness At The Core Of Time”

I took way too long to post this, and now Oderus Urungus is probably going to slice my head off with a giant sword. In a last-ditch attempt to save my worthless hide, I will now present to the latest video from GWAR to all of their clamoring hordes of fans.

I took way too long to post this, and now Oderus Urungus is probably going to slice my head off with a giant sword. In a last-ditch attempt to save my worthless hide, I will now present to the latest video from GWAR to all of their clamoring hordes of fans. “Madness At The Core Of Time” was the first single from our mighty alien overlords’ latest album, Battle Maximus, which came out back in September. Now we’ve got a video to go along with it, and from any other band, a video merely consisting of highlights from live performances would probably be kind of boring. From GWAR, though, it’s a whole different ballgame.

Chaos, violence, blood, and gore, with a side order of epic stagedives, are what’s on the menu for this video, and as long as you don’t play this shocking video in front of your boss or your uptight relatives, you’re guaranteed to have a good time watching it. This is especially true in light of the excellent riffing and awesome over-the-top vocals that this song has in store for you. Even if GWAR were a normal band who just hit the stage and played their instruemnts in their street clothes, they’d pretty much rule. The fact that they’re 10-foot tall aliens who spend their set disemboweling zombies and feeding people to some sort of carnivorous trash compactor (as can be seen in this video) takes them to another level entirely. Watching this video makes it obvious why RVA loves GWAR, and why you should–nay, you MUST–love them too!

GWAR have been out on tour spreading their filth, madness, and world domination across the global landscape, but next week, they will return to RVA once more to bring all of this city’s loyal denizens the best Christmas present of their lives! On Sunday December 29, GWAR will return to The National with support from RVA thrashers Iron Reagan, Detroit’s Battlecross, and up-and-coming local metal act Gritter. Tickets are $20 in advance, so set aside your Christmas cash this year for something worthwhile, and spend your holiday break getting doused in the blood of zombie aliens! Advance tickets available HERE–get yours now! And if you don’t have a copy of Battle Maximus yet, grab it off iTunes HERE!
