Night Idea Share Eerie New Video for ‘Canopy’

by | Oct 27, 2017

Eerie sounds, clips of a desolate, deserted town that feels like something out of The Hills Have Eyes, bleeding ceramic dolls, floating stuffed animals, and a zombie-like couple are just a few of the components that make up Night Idea’s latest video for their song, “Canopy”.

Shot in Utah by Colorado-based filmmaker Adam Rosenberg, the video follows a couple in a trance-like state who are mourning the loss of a child who is no longer there-the reason why is a little hazy however…and shit gets dark super quick.

Between the look in the couple’s eyes and the way they walk, and the Richmond indie prog band’s killer tune and psychedelic vocals from Carter Burton as the soundtrack, it’s almost like a car wreck, you’re a little afraid of what you’ll see, but you can’t quite look away. Perfect timing to get you into the Halloween spirit if you weren’t already. I won’t spoil it for you, but Rosenberg, along with Director of Photography Buddy Thomas, do a great job with the visuals and will leave you feeling uber creeped out by the end.

“Canopy” is the first track off the band’s newest album Riverless, which dropped last week through Gigantic Noise Records and local label Citrus City Records.

You can check out our in-depth interview about the album with the band here and you can listen to Riverless in full below.
