The Student Hip-Hop Organization at VCU threw a killer show at Strange Matter late in September with local heads Nickelus F, Millz, and Ohbliv, all leading up to performances by World’s Fair from NYC and Two9 from ATL. Two9 let Nils Westergard of the SHHO follow them around for the day as they hit local radio station WVCW for an interview, then to the studio, and finally the show itself. Enjoy this look at their day’s activity.

In the fall semester of 2006, Student Hip-Hop Organization was founded at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. Since then, it has branched to surrounding universities and has played an integral part in Virginia’s hip-hop scene while cultivating the minds of their campuses and communities. The organization is known for its quality, independent spirit, and most importantly, authenticity. it has become an institution and creative platform for students and artists to gain experience and find opportunity in their individual passions. SHHO strives to promote higher learning through hip-hop.SHHO

I created Richmond, Virginia’s culture publication RVA Magazine and brought the first Richmond Mural Project to town. Designed the first brand for the Richmond’s First Fridays Artwalk and promoted the citywide “RVA” brand before the city adopted it as the official moniker. I threw a bunch of parties. Printed a lot of magazines. Met so many fantastic people in the process. Professional work: www.majormajor.me
