80’s mega star Billy Idol is on tour and all of our moms are gonna be really excited.

Idol, who’s studded leather helped set the tone for a generation of Hot Topic shoppers, will grace the stages of the National on 6/2.

So give a ‘Rebel Yell’ for this ‘White Wedding’ of… a show.

I’ve got very little to say about this, but Mothers Day is May 10th and I bet your mom would be pumped to get a pair of tickets to this.

Speaking of which, tickets are 50$ a pop with the ‘VIP treatment’ costing 55$.

Idol definitely exists in an 80’s time hole – the cover of his latest album, 2014’s Kings & Queens of the Underground (top image), makes him look liked an air-brushed caricature of himself, but that hasn’t slowed him down. Kings and Queens made it to 9 on the US Billboard charts.

“Billy doesn’t really throw himself into autobiography here, preferring to merely write from the perspective of an old punk rocker on the verge of senior citizenship. ” wrote Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic, giving Kings and Queens 3 our of 5 stars.

“Some of the styles are undeniably tacky but, hey, bad taste is part of Idol’s legacy and Kings & Queens of the Underground touches upon that garishness along with his exaggerated swagger, fondness for hooks, and an irascible snarl, and that makes it an autobiography even if it never tells a story.”

Check out the self-reflective single, “Postcard from the Past”, below. There’s more than enough of his two hit singles in it to make it sound like a B-movie version of itself:

To pick up tickets, head on over to the National Website.

So let your mom know and I’m sure your dad might have a few beers and maybe even dig out his old leather jacket.
