Rising RVA hip hop artist Isaiah Jeremiah just released a new single for the people that love their city, an anthem for hip hop lovers and those alike that love tribute songs to their hometowns. And if I know RVA, we love a good song that celebrates our city.

The 21-year-old Old Dominion University senior released “Broad St. Bounce” earlier this month and its definitely a jam to bump as you cruise down Broad Street at night. It’s very catchy and something that everywhere can relate to.

“Broad Street basically to me signifies Richmond,” said Jeremiah of the song. “The song in general was me giving out appreciation to all different parts of Richmond to the Southside, Northside, the West End where i went to high school. “It felt like it was needed.”

The young artist said he grew up freestyling with friends and took a liking to it his senior year at Tucker High School.

“I would always write in my room whenever I had free time,” he said. “I didnt start recording music until January 2015.”

He said his friends pushed him to get into the studio and start putting some of his words to a beat. Now, Jeremiah said he records at Yellow House Studio on West Broad Street.

He also released a track called “Girl Without a Halo” on his Soundcloud earlier this summer about a girl he liked. Check that out below:

Jeremiah described his style as a mix of EDM with hip hop and said some of his most recent influences include DC’s young and aspiring rapper GoldLink along with Chicago rapper Mick Jenkins and Atlanta artist Rory.

“I like their sound and what they’re doing with their craft,” he said.

Jeremiah said he doesn’t have a release date yet, but he’s working on a mixtape called The Divine Search which will feature about seven to 10 tracks on it and hopefully include other local hip hop artists.

“There’s a bunch of Richmond artists I’d like to work with,” he said.

We will keep you up to date with this guy as he comes along!
