It’s Still Our City Ep. 27 | PRISONER

by | Oct 30, 2026 | COMMUNITY, METAL, PUNK, THRASH & HARDCORE, PODCASTS

RVA Mag and NODDERLY presents It’s Still Our City, a podcast hosted by Harrison Christy and with Clair Morgan as co-host and producer through NODDERLY.

“Formed sometime in 2012, PRISONER started out as a four-piece. Their earliest songs were mostly punk/hardcore mixed with sludge and some black metal influence. Dan joined on second guitar for their second release, “Fear Is the Mind-Killer,” and stayed on for their first full-length, “Beyond the Infinite.” That’s where things started getting a little more blackened, and they began experimenting a bit with synths and samples. The band toured on that material for a few years before they started writing “Putrid|Obsolete.” By then they felt they needed a full-time member on electronics, so they brought in Adam. Since then, PRISONER have pushed much further into industrial metal and added more grind and death metal elements. This band is super sick, so if you haven’t heard them yet, definitely check them out.

This one was a blast for me personally… I go WAY back with these fellas, all the way back to the days of the almighty BONEZONE.

Join us as we talk about how to lose guitars off the top of a car, which music schools NOT to go to, getting your parents’ permission to tour as a teenager, and, most importantly, what’s next for this wonderful project.” — Cheers y’all, H
