Protest band Pussy Riot films video in Banksy’s mock-Disney world

I know it’s only Wednesday, but I figure we could all use a little mid-week reminder to get angry about something.

So we bring you the new video from international protest band Pussy Riot, famous for any number of arrests in Russia and around the EU.

This time the all female group tackles the immigration crisis currently faced around the European continent. While its impossible to sum up all the issues Western governments are facing over there right now, especially in a < 3 minute song, Pussy Riot gave their own interpretation with the track/video below called "Refugees In":

Man, I do love the electronic Saul Williams-thing they’ve got going on.

“We are planning to release a lot of disturbing videos next year,” Nadya Tolokonnikova of Pussy Riot said in a press release sent along with the video. “We hope that you will not like them.”

That’s the spirit.

They also released a list of demands:

NO
nationalism
populism
xenophobia
prejudices
isolationism
militarism
aggressive and authoritarian ideologies
doublethink
survival of the fittest

YES
free travelling
personal freedom
inclusive thinking
multiculturalism
learning how to ask questions
freedom from abuse and inequality
helping those who cannot help themselves
refugees are the new Europeans

I can get behind a lot of this, but I’ve got a long history of loving-to-fuck-shit-up, so that’s just me.

You’ll notice the dystopian background featured in the video – it was shot on location at a Banksy instillation/“bemusement park” called Dismaland. The massive project was an elaborate Disney World parody complete with semi-functioning rides and lots of depressing reminders of the middle-class’s devotion to The Mouse:
