What’s happening craft beer lovers of RVA?! Welcome to this week’s “Tapped,” RVA Magazine’s go to weekly beer column where you can find all your craft beer events, releases, festivals and all the booze news your little hearts desire.
So we have survived Snowpocalypse 2016. Hope you had enough bread, milk, and eggs. Oh and of course beer to get you through these past couple days.
Now the snow may be melting and you may already be back at work, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to leave high and dry without any delicious craft beverages to get you through to the weekend. So hold to your mug’s because we’re ready to tap this thing!
But before we jump into this week’s booze news, check out what you missed last week here.
Hardywood will release its delicious-looking brew Bourbon Sidamo, an imperial coffee stout aged in bourbon barrels on Saturday. This craft beer was conditioned on custom roasted Sidamo coffee from Lamplighter Roasting Company, Bourbon Sidamo showcases the signature flavors of whiskey, roasted malt and Ethiopian coffee.
Hardywood has also released all four variants of its Gingerbread Stout for a tap takeover at The Village Cafe. This includes the Bourbon Gingerbread Stout, Christmas Morning, Kentucky Christmas Morning, and of course, the craft beer that started them all, the original Gingerbread Stout.
Triple Crossing is putting out its Night Lands Imperial Stout Bottle release this Sat. Jan. 30. It’s the second in their Lock Out series of bottle releases.
Legend will release its spring seasonal, Ütebier!, an American Pale Ale that losely translates to “the beer you drink on the first nice day of the year! Legendary Mug Club Members can buy pints of this brew Jan. 31. and the rest of the public can enjoy it starting Feb. 1.
The Answer Brewpub is hosting a pretty cool event tonight. They will have the following Victory at Sea variants from Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits on tap:
Victory at Sea (Imperial Porter with Coffee & Vanilla, Peanut Butter Victory at Sea, Coconut Victory at Sea, and Peppermint Victory at Sea.
Strangeways has rescheduled the release of its Hinterlander Barleywine for this Sat. Jan. 30. This barleywine is aged a solid year in oak barrels with Black Mission figs. The brewery is also doing a special on CAN-ABLES just for Hinterlander. Take it to go in a 32 oz. Crowler and they will give you the CAN-ABLE for FREE!
Final Gravity looks like they have a Blood Orange IPA on tap. Look at that picture and tell me that doesn’t make your mouth water!
