Amazon Home Services now available in Richmond

Amazon made all of us happy when they launched their one-hour delivery service Prime Now last fall allowing us to get groceries, electronics and other items in a snap.

Amazon made all of us happy when they launched their one-hour delivery service Prime Now last fall allowing us to get groceries, electronics and other items in a snap.

On Monday, the online retailer announced the expansion of their Home Services to Richmond and 19 other cities, allowing customers to request services for their homes from everything to house cleaning to lawn work to computer repair.

According to the press release from Amazon, people can now search over 1,200 unique services in over 60 professions.

Amazon Home Services features handpicked pros offering upfront pricing on these services. Local service providers opt-in to where they operate and the services they provide. Customers purchasing items on Amazon that require assembly or installation can include the service as part of their checkout process, or they can read reviews and schedule services directly at www.amazon.com/services.

Amazon launched its Home Services in 2015 to 50 metro areas across the country and now Richmond will join them, along with Santa Rosa, CA; Ventura County, CA; Boulder, CO; Greater Bridgeport, CT; New Haven, CT; Brevard County, FL; Cape Coral, FL; Sarasota, FL; Indianapolis, IN; Ann Arbor, MI; Raleigh, NC; Trenton, NJ; Las Vegas, NV; Cleveland, OH; Allentown, PA; Lehigh Valley, PA; San Antonio, TX; Milwaukee, WI; and Hampton Roads VA/NC.
