DAILY FIX: Jacob Kasher

Jacob Kasher Presents The Ughmerica – P.O.S. from Illusive Media on Vimeo.

There’s no science to predict a hit. Some people have it, some don’t. Right now, though, the potential looks good for Jacob Kasher of VA Beach’s The Ughmerica to have it. After co-writing hits for Ke$ha and Britney Spears, the songwriter has taken the stage for his original work, “P.O.S. (Piece of Shit).” With a video produced by Illusive Media, the song takes the ironic yet honest approach of embracing self-deprecation. Self-loathing about a lifestyle many of us might envy, Kasher has made a simple but artistically intelligent pop piece with a Hip-hop edge. Although it reflects the low points of high society, The Ughmerica have created a piece relatable to almost anyone who delves into the same introspective reflections. It just might be the viral hit of the summer.
