Each Friday night in March, we’ll be featuring one of Richmond’s best DJs, who’ll be rocking the party at the Selba Lounge all night long!
On March 1, we kick off the party in fine fashion with the funky sounds of Soulpower. Mr. Felty and DJ Pari throw this retro soul party once a month, combining to bring RVA the best rare soul, funk, and R&B sounds from the 60s and 70s on original vinyl, and we’re pleased to bring a special edition of Soulpower to Selba Lounge.
Then on March 8, Bobby LaBeat of the celebrated Audio Ammo DJ crew will be in the building. He’ll be spinning house and disco grooves that incorporate reworked electro beats, combining the sounds of multiple decades to bring a unique sound and get the party jumping.
On March 15, we’ll be joined by DJ Carlito, the crate-digging, internationally-traveling connoisseur of sounds from around the world. Previously responsible for Bollywood nights at Cous Cous and the Non Stop K-Pop events at Balliceaux, Carlito will be mingling a wide variety of sounds from foreign lands, all of which have the common factor of being able to light up a dance floor.
Finally, on March 22, we’ll be bringing in DJ Con of the ANIMAL dance party. ANIMAL incorporates a wide variety of genres, from house and electro to indie and punk, but Con’s set at Selba Lounge will specifically focus on Britpop and disco–thereby offering a specific area of focus while remaining eclectic.
With a lineup including a variety of sounds and some of the best DJ talent available here in Richmond, Selba Lounge’s calendar offers a smorgasbord of opportunities to hit the floor and get your freak on! Fridays in March are going to be a blast, thanks to Selba and your friends at RVA Mag–don’t miss it!
