Introducing RVA’s Fashion Photographers: Ken Penn

by | Jun 24, 2013 | PHOTOGRAPHY

Ken Penn got his start in the world of hardcore punk, and while he still maintains his roots in that subculture (see his recently published book, United Blood 2013), he’s just at home in the high fashion world these days. As one half of the creative team FVK, he’s done commercial work for Vans, PETA, LG, and many more. Covering everything from fine art to the tattoo industry, with previous work appearing in Modern Drummer and on Animal Planet, Penn’s creative approach extends to all forms of the still and moving image.

Last weekend lived up to the hype. Luckily, the weather held out, and Iron Blossom 2026 turned into a damn good weekend of music. Now in its fourth year, the festival has settled into being a Richmond staple and this year didn’t disappoint with a lineup that...

Djo, the musical project of actor and musician Joe Keery, made his Richmond debut at Allianz Amphitheater on Friday night, drawing a packed crowd for one of the summer's most anticipated indie shows. Best known to many as Steve Harrington from Stranger Things, Keery...

Photos | Warriors in Bloom at Agecroft Hall

For one weekend, Agecroft Hall stopped being a museum and became a kingdom.  What began as a fundraiser to help launch Richmond's first Renaissance Faire has grown into a destination of its own. Warriors in Bloom, created by the folks at Virago Alley, returned with...

Photos | The Strokes at Allianz Amphitheatre

The Strokes are the most important rock band of the 21st century. In 2001, they changed the dial from grunge to garage, and singlehandedly sent every record label on a scavenger hunt for their sauce. If you weren’t around back then you might think I’m exaggerating....
