Win Tickets To See Typhoon At 9:30 Club!

Big-band indie rock is not dead! Granted, Typhoon aren’t quite as gigantic an ensemble as Broken Social Scene (or The Polyphonic Spree–man, remember them?), but they’re tipping the scales at nearly a dozen members, which makes for some big enormous music that will surely echo from the rafters when they play at 9:30 Club on March 19–a show you could see for free!

And yeah, OK, maybe that sentence was a run-on, although I prefer to think that it was just really, really complex. But let’s save that adjective for “Dreams Of Cannibalism,” the first single from Typhoon’s fourth album, White Lighter, which came out last year. Check out its video below:

It certainly wouldn’t be inaccurate to say that this Portland band has a bit of a Mumford/Lumineers cast to them (Hey!), but that’s not always a bad thing, and in the case of Typhoon, it just seems to offer the band a wider sonic palette with which to work. So get ready for some big, loud, triumphant indie rock music, and come see Typhoon at 9:30!
